Low Profile Vents

The Low Profile Vent Looks Good While Looking Out for Your Buildings

Metallic Products’ low profile vents are an aesthetically pleasing — and extremely efficient — means of ventilating your steel buildings’ standing seam roofs. Designed to virtually disappear into your ridge line, these low-maintenance ventilation accessories are ideal for attic spaces, office buildings and other smaller-scale steel buildings that don’t require high-volume air movement.

Made in America at our Houston, Texas, production facility, Metallic Products’ low profile vents come factory assembled, and are available in a range of throat sizes, colors and finishes. Although manufactured in 10’ lengths, the finished product can be installed as a single unit or butted together to form a continuous run. (End caps and splice kits are shipped loose for field installation.) In continuous-run applications, splice kits provide the appearance of a single unit.

For steel buildings in areas that regularly experience high wind scenarios, we offer enhanced product options. Low profile vent varieties featuring Florida product approval and Miami-Dade high velocity hurricane zone (HVHZ) approval adhere to the strict construction standards set forth for areas such as the Florida Keys and coastal regions. Our low profile vents have also undergone evaluation and approval processes by the Texas Department of Insurance.

Low Profile Vents: Full Details & Specs

Standard Size
Each 10′ unit features 200 square inches of free area with a base rating of 611 CFM of air movement. Units in lengths less than 10′ can be manufactured upon request. Throat size is determined by roof pitch.

Enhanced Engineering
Florida approved and Miami-Dade high velocity hurricane zone (HVHZ) options available. For more information, visit our Florida product approval page.

Design
Aerodynamic design enhances the looks and performance of metal buildings’ architectural roof systems. Unit moves toward the ridge on floating roofs, and vents are made to match roof slope and maintain a low-profile appearance.

Construction
Factory assembled and ready for installation. Vents feature the Cor-A-Vent®, a time-tested, economical, self-cleaning and durable ventilation core. All steel parts are 24-gauge.

Low Profile Vent FAQs

Get quick answers to common questions about low profile ridge vents and how they support efficient, visually streamlined steel building ventilation.

A:

The primary difference comes down to design and visibility. Standard ridge vents are built for higher-volume airflow and often sit more prominently along the roofline. Low profile ridge vents, meanwhile, are designed to blend into the structure for a more subtle appearance. Both support effective metal building ventilation while also coming in a range of sizes, colors and finishes to suit your unique structure, needs and look.

A:

Low profile ridge vents are ideal for buildings where appearance matters as much as performance. They’re commonly used for office spaces, commercial buildings and other structures where a clean roofline is preferred but reliable steel building ventilation is still required.

A:

Low profile ridge vents are designed with aerodynamics in mind, which can help minimize the impact of wind on the roofline. While they don’t eliminate wind uplift entirely, their streamlined design can contribute to improved performance in windy conditions when properly specified and installed. If it’s a concern, ask your accessories provider if they have data regarding third-party wind uplift testing for their building vents.

A:

Yes! Low profile ridge vents are specifically designed to work well with standing seam metal roofs, allowing for proper ventilation without disrupting the roof system’s integrity or appearance. They can be tailored to match roof slope and panel configuration for a precise fit.

A:

Yes! Properly engineered low profile ridge vents are built to perform in demanding environments, with options available that meet strict standards such as Florida product approval and other wind-resistance requirements. These designs are tested to help ensure durability and reliability in high wind scenarios.

A:

Yes, and in a positive way. Low profile ridge vents are designed to be visually unobtrusive, blending into the roofline rather than standing out. The result is a cleaner, more polished look for your metal building — without sacrificing ventilation performance.
